The nurture debate of intelligence has historically been referred to as the influence by the predominant caregiver to a
child (e.g. mother). In today’s society however, it is referred to as any
environmental factor that influences the development of the child. These factors may include prenatal development, parental
factors, environments in which the child lives, or family and peer experiences. It
also includes influences such as media, marketing and socio-economic status.
